Volunteer Coordinator in Ottawa & Delaware Counties

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and administering all volunteers in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Will supervise a team of volunteer coordinators.


1) Create and distribute quarterly volunteer newsletter

2) Recruit volunteers by offering information about Community Crisis Center services

3) Process volunteers with an initial orientation, background check, and maintain all volunteer files as required by Attorney General certification standards.

4) Maintain records of volunteer service and report monthly to the Ottawa County Advocate.

5) Coordinate volunteers to provide services at the Jay, Oklahoma office and participate in community awareness activities and community outreach. Volunteer services may include staffing, facility repair, transportation, special events etc.

6) Be a presence in Delaware County to promote client services, recruit volunteers, and keep the cause of eliminating domestic violence and sexual assault before the public.

7) Assist in planning for an Annual Volunteer Recognition event during the year.

8) Participate in agency staff meetings, consultations and in-service training.

9) Other duties as assigned.


1) High School Diploma, BA preferred.

2) Excellent organizational skills, skilled in Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

3) Strong leadership qualities and supervisory skills to oversee a team of volunteer coordinators.

4) Excellent communication, customer service skills and excellent writing skills.

5) Outgoing, well-groomed, capable of solving problems and motivating others.

6) Excellent sense of discernment in screening volunteer candidates.

7) Able to network with the community and recruit volunteers for our cause.
